I guess, Cary Fukunaga, maybe, inspired by all the vampires, wolves and wizards that are now so trendy, he tried to make Jane's story look younger and modern so he could attract a younger audience to his movie. I didn't bother the bizzard cuts, in fact, to me, they were brilliant.
